Recommended Diet for the Patients with Renal Failure

Kidneys are ones of the organisms cleansing system organs. If kidneys are affected by the disease, the whole organism suffers. A hard condition for a patent is the renal failure. It is caused by a range of problems like inflammatory diseases, metabolism disorder, vessel’s disorders, genetic pre-disposition towards kidney diseases, various new formations and poisonings.

With time kidney cells are dying and kidney function of toxin withdrawal out of the organism is lowered. If renal failure is not treated, irreversible processes will start. Total poisoning of the organism by residual nitrogen, urea and other poisonous substances will begin step by step. A person will feel extreme fatigue, lowering of the activity level, sleep disorders and loss of appetite. Periodically, the patient feels nausea, often followed by vomiting. Malfunction of the digestive system is developing gradually. The patient loses weight; the skin is pale. Skin itching appears.

Nervous system begins to be involved in the poisoning process. Affection of the nervous system in patients with renal failure is accompanied by apathy and difficulty to concentrate. A sick person even produces an ammonia smell. This is the result of urea decomposition by the salivary glands, over saturating the patient’s organism. Anemia, a blood disease, is developed. A doctor based on the patient’s examination and laboratory tests diagnose a condition. Timely treatment allows prolonging the patient’s life and improves its quality considerably. Dietary meals are part of the treatment compounds. A dietitian prescribes the diet that corresponds to the severity of the case.

Diet for Acute Renal Failure

Recommended Diet for the Patients with Renal FailureHealthy eating for renal failure is aimed at kidneys sparing and lowering of the arterial pressure. The diet helps to decrease body edemas and improve nitrogen remains withdrawal.

The diet for renal failure is directed to healthy eating with the decrease of the proteins the patient consumes. Why is this necessary? After splitting and taking the healthy substances, protein is turned into the products which need to be withdrawn out of the organism.

This is carbon dioxide, which is removed by the lungs.

Water is withdrawn by kidneys, sweat glands and lungs.

Ammonia is a poisonous decomposition component that gets to the liver to be processed into fewer dangerous urea and further is withdrawn by the kidney and partially by the skin.

Due to kidney’s affection, they cannot remove the urea from the organism, and the general poisoning of the organism occurs.

To lower the negative protein influence on the organism, protein consumption is cut. The daily amount of protein consumption, depending of the patient’s condition, is 40-80 grams. 20-40 grams out of them should be animal protein.
